Lack of circulation in the housing market

When your salary increases, you will probably start looking at larger homes to be able to move on to your current place of residence, yet that is not so easy in practice.

For example, our own research shows that in Amsterdam there is by far the greatest shortage for homes in the price categories between € 200,000 and € 300,000 and between € 400,000 and € 500,000. Population groups in Amsterdam therefore run up against a point where there are simply no more homes available for their budget.

Tightness per price category is an important tool for policymakers and developers to ensure a smooth flow in an overstrained housing market.

We have developed our own methods to visualize even more specific shortages in certain dimensions.
